Bio

The Homeless Band is Jay Vazquez’s first band to ever reach Canadian soil. Before becoming one of the GTA’s main providers of live music and entertainment, Jay Vazquez was the new guy in this country, starting from scratch. Over the past six years, The Homeless Band has evolved into Toronto’s ultimate Rock, Blues, Soul, and Funk group.

Jay Vazquez, heralded as “The Canadian Carlos Santana” by the Toronto Sun, leads the band with his virtuosic electric guitar ability and soulful vocals. He is joined by a 7 piece ensemble, including strong rhythm section, horn section, and female lead and backing vocals to boot.

The full horn section and powerful vocals make the Homeless Band reminiscent of the greats like Tower of Power, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Chicago- a few of Jay’s biggest influences. Jay’s other main influence, his Mexican background, means that every performance is passionate, grooving, and full of latin flavour or “sabor”!

Undoubtedly the most energetic and sexy Rock and Soul band in Ontario, The Homeless Band has become a staple within the GTA’s bar/club scene and festival circuit. You could even say that we are not “homeless” anymore!

“If there's a place where Soul, R&B and Latin meet and create a unique sound that will turn you upside down, that is every stage taken over by The Homeless Band”.
